Dear Community,
Members of the Jefferson Township community including staff and administration at Jefferson Township High School have banded together to undertake an energetic and enthusiastic project that we hope will lead to a first class stadium for the entire community to enjoy. This stadium will host several sports at the high school and many from the recreation department as well.
We hope to have field turf installed and the facility lighted to accommodate Friday night football games and several other evening sporting events and activities. These events will be fun and exciting for the entire community not to mention help showcase some of our high school athletes. In addition, we hope to have our track outfitted with lower level lights so the entire community can take advantage of the facility to increase their health and fitness.
The committee along with coaches, athletes and other community members plan on saving dollars by doing a great deal of work on the project themselves such as excavating, electrician volunteers, dismantling the old bleachers, etc. Even with these volunteer efforts the entire cost of the project is in excess of $1 million dollars and most of that financial burden must be raised through corporate donations and the fund raising efforts of everyone involved.
Regards,
STAR Committee
